Welcome to Beyond the Paddle

Hi, I’m Ben Woodford, and I’m excited to welcome you to Beyond the Paddle! With a degree in Adventure Education (or my “Cub Scout degree,” as my friends lovingly call it) and a lifelong passion for outdoor exploration, I’ve spent years immersing myself in the thrill of adventure—whether it’s teaching snowboarding on the slopes of Austrian mountains, paddling whitewater rivers in my kayak, or enjoying the serene rhythm of a paddleboard on calm waters.

Now living in beautiful South Wales, UK, I’m lucky to be surrounded by some of the most breathtaking landscapes imaginable. From rugged coastlines to tranquil waterways, these natural wonders have deepened my love for paddle sports and inspired me to share that passion with others.

Here, you’ll find a wealth of resources, including informative blogs packed with practical advice, expert tips, and trusted gear recommendations—all crafted to help you make the most of your paddleboarding and kayaking adventures. Whether you’re a beginner dipping your toes in for the first time or an experienced paddler seeking new inspiration, there’s something here for you.
